Massage Therapy
Massage therapists are regulated healthcare professionals who use hands-on techniques to manipulate muscles and soft tissues of the body. Massage therapy helps reduce pain, improve circulation, ease tension, increase mobility, and support both physical and emotional well-being.
Our Registered Massage Therapists offer a range of treatment styles in Okotoks:
Swedish Massage
Uses firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, increase flexibility, and promote relaxation. Techniques include gliding, kneading, friction, tapping, and vibration.
Deep Tissue Massage
Targets the deeper layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia to release chronic tension. While similar to Swedish massage, it uses more intense pressure to treat longstanding tightness or restricted movement.
Myofascial Release
A hands-on technique involving sustained pressure on myofascial restrictions. This method helps eliminate pain, restore motion, and increase range by addressing connective tissue imbalances.
Prenatal Massage
Supports the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy by relieving common discomforts such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, and swelling. It also reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, improves circulation, encourages better sleep, and can ease anxiety caused by hormonal shifts.
Trigger Point Therapy
Focuses on relieving pain caused by tight, sensitive muscle knots (trigger points). This technique uses cycles of isolated pressure and release, with the recipient actively participating by breathing deeply and identifying pain points. Many clients experience noticeable relief after just one session. Ongoing treatment can help manage chronic pain and stress.
