Gait & Running Analysis
Our gait and running specialists assess movement mechanics to help runners prevent injury, improve performance, and correct inefficient patterns. With advanced training and a deep understanding of running biomechanics, they work to uncover the root cause of pain or performance limitations.
What Does a Running Analysis Involve?
Many running-related injuries stem from altered movement patterns and training errors. Poor technique can also limit performance and increase the risk of overuse injuries.
Our running assessments begin with a comprehensive evaluation of:
Running posture and form
Biomechanics (e.g. foot strike, cadence, body alignment)
Strength and flexibility
Footwear
Training history and habits
We observe and video-record you running on a treadmill, allowing us to identify bilateral imbalances and inefficiencies such as asymmetrical loading, poor stride mechanics, or suboptimal cadence.
These insights are combined with findings from a full musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, giving us a complete picture of how your body is moving—and where it may need support.
What Happens After the Assessment?
Based on your results, we create a personalized plan that may include:
Strength and flexibility exercises
Technique coaching
Modifications to training load or running volume
Recommendations for footwear or orthotics
Our goal is to improve performance while minimizing injury risk.
All of our running specialists are certified through The Running Clinic and are avid runners themselves. We believe that proper education, load adaptation, and targeted training are key to keeping you strong, resilient, and injury-free, on the pavement or on the trails.
Care is collaborative here.
